GREAT RESULTS TAKES SECOND SEAT TO INJURY  There are days where a victories, even as sweet as they get, loses some of its meaning in the face of a much more serious event. This was one such game this past Friday night. On an occasion when the spartans team should be celebrating their return to the place where they lost their last two postseason games, and on a day they secured at least a winning record for the season, bigger concerns were on players and fans minds.  The Spartans have consolidated their first place with a comprehensive 52-12 win over the 2010 Provincial champions St-Leonard Cougars at a rainy Hebert Park. The win is made even more impressive as it was acquired despite the early loss of their defensive stalwart Umar Temor to a slight injury. Osirus Ip and Willy Insixiengmay provided the bulk of the offense along with a late score by backup QB Dylan Seinet. But the mood remain somber for the bulk of the second half, as star WR Michael Remy, was hit in the back and stayed down with loss of feeling in the leg. As a precaution, the  player was taken to the hospital to ambulance, leaving teammates and staff in a state of shock and anguish. Fortunately, after an overnight period of observation and exam, the young player was realeased from the hospital and is recovering at home. The Spartans next game is a home clash against traditional powerhouse and neighbour North Shore Mustangs on Friday night at 8.00pm. Another long TD for #1 Willy Insixiengmay

TRIOMPHE ASSOMBRI PAR UNE BLESSURE Ils y a des jours où victoires et défaites, même les plus douces, perdent de leurs sens devant un évènement qui souligne la reltive insignifiance de ce qui reste un jeu. Ce vendredi soir était un de ces soirs. A l'occasion d'un match où St-Laurent célébrait une victoire sur les lieux même de leur deux dernière défaite en playoffs et le jour où ils s'assurent de finir avec une saison gagnante, l'inquiétude était plutôt dans l'esprit des joueurs et des fans présents. Les Spartans ont consolidé leur position de leader grâce à une victoire sans appel de 52-12 sur les Cougars, les champions provinciaux 2010 sous la pluie à St-Leonard. Le succès est d'autant plus impressionant qu'il a été obtenu en l'absence du pilier du système defensif Umar Temor, qui quitta le match tôt sur une blessure. Le succès offensif fut surtout assuré par les courreurs Osirus Ip et Willy Insixiengmay  assisité  par un TD du QB suppléant Dylan Seinet. Mais l'humeur fut assombi tôt dans le 3e quart avec l'inquiètante blessure du WR star Michael Remy qui fut plaqué sévèrement dans le dos resta au sol avec perte de sensibilité dans la jambe. Par précaution, le joueur fut transporté à l'hôpital en ambulance, laissant coéquipiés et fans angouassés et en état de choc. Heureusement, après une nuit en observation, le jeune joueur sera libéré et recupère maintenant à la maison. Le prochain match sera une rencontre à domicile face aux toujours dangereux North Shore Mustangs ce vendredi soir à 8.00pm. ORANGE CRUSH DEFENSE: Bring on the pressure (QB sack)

COSTLY MISTAKES In a battle that seemed a long-shot at best for the Spartans, the bantam program almost pulled-off one of the great surprise of the season, by battling the heavily favorites Raiders on Saturday at Chateauguay. The tight score hardly reflects the events of a game where, some of the better players missed great opportunities to convert golden opportunities in a clash that ended up being a one score game. The next chance for redemption for the Spartans (2-4) will be on Saturday afternoon as they travel to the 5-2 Varennes (direction).

DEPLACEMENT DIFFICILE Tout comme la semaine passée, la formation de l'entraineur Barry Castello fera le déplacement difficile vers la rive-sud pour y rencontrer une équipe qui vit proche des sommets du classement dans la division Earl de Peralle en 2012. Les Raiders partagent la seconde position et joueront en confiance après l'impressionnante performance enregistrée face aux Bobcats qui n'avait pa encore perdus jusque là (22-0). St-Laurent (2-3) se remet de sa défaite face aux leader St-Hubert.

ANOTHER 1-2 SUNDAY The mosquito AAA program has now saved a few sundays for the  St-Laurent Football association. Like in the previous week, they are the only team to emerge as winner from the Sunday tripleheader. This time, they left everyone on the edge of their seats, saving a victory by slightest of margin. Both Patriots and Spartans had exchanged a pair of TD's, RB Jahlyd Dammier Little scoring twice for the Orange and Blacks. But the crucial score came on a fourth quarter safety recorded by the excellent defensive squad. The Atoms lost in agonizing fashion by a score in a low scoring game. Antoine Moustache the scorer for St-Laurent. The Peewees, led the game very briefly in the first half, before succumbing to the more physical Patriots. UN AUTRE DIMANCHE A 1-2 Les moustique AAA ont encore sauvé une autre dimanche pour l'association de football de St-Laurent. Tout comme la semaine précédente, l'équipe emerge comme la seule a avoir remporté son match durant le programme triple dominical. Cette fois-ci, ils s'en sortent par la plus petite des marges. Les Spartans et les Patriots se sont échangés une pair de TD, le courreur Jahlyd Dammier Little marquant à deux reprises pour les Orange-et-noir. Mais la difference dans le match fut obtenu par le biais d'un safety dans le 4e quart. La superbe  unité en défense prouvant encore sa valeur dans cette superbe saison. Les atome, quant à eux, seront victimes d'une défaite agonisante dans un match entierement défensif sur le score de 12-6. Antoine Moustache fournira les points de son équipe. Les peewee ont mené à la marque très brièvement en début de match avant de se faire dépacer par un équipe des Patriots bien plus physique. Latrell Pierre donnera les points pour St-Laurent.
