ALL STAR 2016 / GOLD

U-17 FINAL / Team QMFL  
Gold Medal / Medaille d'or

A Pair of Golden Spartans!  Congratulations to the two representatives of the St-Laurent Spartans football program participating in the prestigious Spalding Cup. The 2016 edition of the All-Star tournament again pegged the best of U-17 youth football (school and civil leagues) in Quebec as well as a team from Ontario and Nova Scotia. The Orange & Blacks players, DL Tim Marinos and CB Brendan Francois, were starters in a loaded team that went 3-0 in competition, beating LLL All-Stars (Laval Laurentides) 34-20 in the grand finale Sunday night in St-Leonard.

Un paire de Spartans en or! Félicitation aux deux représentants du programme de football des Spartans pour leur participation à la prestigieuse coupe Spalding. L'édition du tournoi all-star a de nouveau mis face-à-face le meilleur du football jeune au Quebec (ligues civiles et scolaires) ainsi qu'un représentant chacun de l'Ontario et de la Nouvelle-Ecosse. Les joueurs de St-Laurent, DL Tim Marinos et CB Brendan Francois, ont été titutlaire de leur poste dans l'alignement partant au sein d'une équipe très talentueuse qui traversa la competition sans encombre (3-0), battant notament LLL All-Stars (Laval Laurentides) en grande finale sur le score de 34-20 dimanche soir à St-Leonard.

NIT Final

TEVONN STAR IN NY!  Spartans standout Tevonn Walker  (Class of 2010), who now plays basketball for the University of Valparaiso (Indiana - USA), helped his team beat BYU and clinch a spot in the National Invitation Tournament final game which is being played in front of  a packed house at Madison Square Garden in NY and broadcasted on ESPN. Thur., Mar 31 7pm Vs George Washington Univ.

TEVONN STAR A NY!  L'ancienne gloire des Spartans Tevonn Walker (Finissant 2010), et qui joue maintenant au basketball pour l'unviersité de Valparaiso (Indiana - ÉU), a aidé son équipe à remporter sa demi-finale du tournoi NIT contre Brigham Young Univ., se qualifiant ainsi pour la finale qui se joue à guichet fermé au Madison Square Garden de NY et est retransmis sur ESPN. Jeudi 31 mars à 7pm face à l'univ. George Washington.

Saint Laurent Football  Association  General Meeting The Saint Laurent Football Association's General Annual Meeting will be held on Monday April 4, 2016 at 19:00. As a parent of a Spartan’s player, you are invited to attend this General meeting. The AGM is the moment that the executive of the Association is constituted. Should you have an interest and have time to give, then is the time. The meeting will be held in room 204 of Saint-Laurent borough Centre des Loisirs at 1375 Grenet Street. Assemblée générale annuelle,  Association de Football Amateur  de Saint-Laurent L’assemblée générale de l’association de football Saint-Laurent aura lieu lundi le 4 avril 2016 à 19:00. À titre de parent d’un joueur des Spartans, vous êtes invité à participer à cette assemblée. Cette assemblée est ouverte à tout parent de joueur et bénévole au sein de l’association et c’est lors de cette assemblée qu’est constitué l’exécutif. Donc si vous avez un intérêt et du temps à donner c’est le moment de vous manifester. 2016 MIDGET H-C

ST-LAURENT MIDGET  NEW HEAD COACH  The St-Laurent Minor football Association has announced the hiring of Barry Castello as its new midget HC for the 2016 season. He will bring up his staff which was in charge of the bantam program in 2015 finishing with a 7-3 record and a semi-final place in the AAA President Cup. Barry, a former player for the Spartans, Vanier Cheetahs and concordia Stingers has been a HC at St Laurent since the 2007 season, when he took over the peewee program. GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR SEASON! NOUVEL ENTRAINEUR-CHEF  AU NIVEAU MIDGET L’association de football mineur de St-Laurent a selectionné Barry Castello comme nouvel entraineur-chef pour la saison 2016. Il arrive à ce poste avec son staff directement du programme bantam, avec lequel en 2015 il a fini 7-3 en plus d'une place en demi-finale de la coupe du president AAA. Barry, ancien joueur des Spartans, de Vanier College et de Concordia occupe les fonctions d'entraineur-chef depuis la saison 2007, alors qu'il avait été mis en charge du programme peewee. ASSOCIATION BANQUET  The 2015 Association banquet will be held on Sat. 05-Mar-2016 at 4.00pm at the Centre Des Loisirs in St-Laurent (1375 Grenet St-Laurent H4L 5K3). Individual and team prizes will be given during the ceremony. All 2015 registered players are expected to attend, while parents, alumni and friends of the association are also welcome.	BANQUET DE L'ASSOCIATION  Le banquet de l'association de la saison 2015 aura lieu le sam. 05-Mar-2016 à 4.00pm au Centre des Loisirs (1375 Grenet St-Laurent H4L 5K3).
